About Ippon

Are you looking for a new challenge or an activity to suit you or the whole family?

Then look no further, here at Ippon we have over 20 classes a week where you can keep fit or, as a family, spend time together while learning Shotokan Karate.

Established by Sensei Jason Netherton 5th Dan in 2006; the club boasts over 250 students, challenging all ages from 4 upwards.

So, whether you’re looking to train once a week or as many times as you like, with classes covering Greater Manchester you can expect a warm welcome.

With grading typically every three months, you can be sure of success and potentially join our competition squad to represent our academy nationally and internationally.

Jason and his instructors all have full-time professional careers and so do not rely on karate for an income. They all teach solely for the benefit of their students whilst maintaining true credibility as karate should be.

Jason would like to encourage you to give Ippon a try as he ensures true, fair and untainted karate training.

Ippon has gained a high level of respect from its peer clubs around the UK, as it has Regional, National, International and World competition success. We are also the first Traditional Shotokan Karate Club in Bolton to receive standardised accreditation with the Bolton Mark.

The club has a strong family ethos where all club members support each other, this is complemented with a great social calendar.
